To coincide with National Nurses Week, Simple Modern is thrilled to introduce the Top 10 Finalists for The Great Nurse Getaway — a nationwide celebration of the healthcare heroes who go above and beyond for their patients and communities.

One of these inspiring nurses will win an all-expenses-paid Caribbean cruise, Getaway Bags for the trip, and tumblers for his or her entire nursing unit — and you get to help decide who!

Voting opens May 6 and runs through May 11 — cast your vote once a day and help us honor some of the best nurses in the nation.

After reading through hundreds of heartfelt nominations from across the country, we’re thrilled to announce the Top 10 Finalists for Simple Modern’s Great Nurse Getaway — our nationwide campaign to celebrate the nurses who give so much to their patients, communities, and teams.

Every single nomination was worthy of making it to our Top 10, and we wish we could give getaways to everyone nominated, these Top 10 Finalists represent some of the best the industry has to offer.

From her nomination:
“Julie’s compassion for her patients as well as towards her colleagues has always been evident in the nursing roles she has held over the last 24 years. After advancing  her education and becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner, she went from caring for the delicate babies in the neonatal ICU to managing and advocating for children with complicated seizure/developmental disorders. She helped begin her center’s first Pediatric Epilepsy Device Clinic and spoke nationally, about her passion for seizure safety and rescue in the school setting. She changed gears and followed her love for educating as she joined the Learning & Development Simulation team. Julie is now one of the lead faculty for the Crisis Prevention Program where she teaches verbal deescalation and safety skills to staff, improving staff/patient safety as well as reducing staff burnout.”

“This man goes above and  beyond for the children and families he cares for. He wears his heart on his sleeve and genuinely loves his job. He is always someone to count on. He will take on any shift and help where needed because he never wants to leave his team struggling or the children and family in need.”

“I am entering my cousin because she absolutely deserves it. While being a single mom, she went through LPN school while working and taking care of her child. She then later went to RN school and graduated. She constantly works. Sometimes she doesn’t get a day off.”
