Simple Modern Focuses on Licensing Partnerships,
Event-Driven Merchandise at SLATS Industry Show
Simple Modern is expanding its sports licensing strategy and focusing on deepening partnerships and increasing fan-focused, experience-based merchandise tied to championship moments, stadium exclusives and event-driven retail experiences.
Simple Modern highlighted its focus on deepening partnerships and creating event-driven product collaborations during this year’s recent Sports Licensing & Tailgate Show, the largest gathering of licensors, retailers and collegiate athletic licensing partners every year.
The Oklahoma City-based drinkware company exhibited at the show for the eighth consecutive year, meeting with university retailers, team retail buyers and licensing partners to discuss licensed merchandise opportunities across collegiate and professional sports.
Garrett Mueller, Simple Modern Licensing Manager, said this year’s focus centered on strengthening existing relationships while developing merchandise tied to milestone sports events, including championship collections and stadium-exclusive product launches.
“Our strategy is focused on working closely with our partners to create products connected to meaningful sports moments,” Mueller said. “We think this focus will help create memorable fan experiences while strengthening our long-term partnerships.”
Simple Modern has expanded its presence in licensed sports merchandise in recent years through intellectual property partnerships and limited-run product releases. Attendance at SLATS, the largest trade show of its kind, allowed Simple Modern the opportunity to discuss new collaboration possibilities and potential distribution growth for themselves and their partners.
“Fans are increasingly drawn to products tied to specific moments and shared experiences,” said Jared Deimund, Simple Modern Sales Analyst. “Partner collaboration allows us to develop merchandise connected to championships, special events and exclusive retail environments.”
Simple Modern’s growing licensing presence supports the company’s broader mission to exist to give generously. The Oklahoma City-based brand donates at least 10 percent of annual profits to nonprofit organizations focused on improving lives and strengthening communities.
